Mercy Regional Medical Center and Acadian Medical Center recently announced that Phillip Dupre has been recognized as the hospital’s 2017 Mercy Award winner.
Dupre is a mechanic in the plant operations department.
The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of LifePoint Health’s hospitals who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.
The Mercy Award is an annual recognition program established in 2002 to honor the life of Scott Mercy, LifePoint’s founding chairman and chief executive officer. The award is considered the highest honor a LifePoint employee can receive.
Scott Smith, CEO of Mercy and Acadian, said, “At Mercy and Acadian, we share LifePoint’s commitment to making communities healthier, and we recognize this is supported by the good work and service of our employees on and off the job.”
Smith added, “We are extremely proud to recognize Phillip for his efforts on behalf of our patients and our community. He goes above and beyond each and every day to ensure that every person he encounters receives the highest level of care and compassion.”
Smith said, “He is respected by his fellow co-workers, our community, our medical staff and our hospital leadership. He reaches out to each and every one of our employees as if they were part of his own family. It is obvious that he has an indirect impact on our patients, employees, and the people He works with day to day. Phillip always displays a positive attitude and promotes a team-like atmosphere throughout our facilities. He takes ownership of his department as well as our hospital system. He has such a personal and passionate connection about the reputation and standards that we all strive to provide each and every day. I truly feel that Phillip is an inspiration to all of us.”
Each hospital winner, including Lafleur, will be considered for LifePoint’s 2017 company-wide Mercy Award. The company-wide winner will be announced this summer and honored during a ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee, in August, to which Lafleur and all hospital winners are invited to attend.
