Early voting continues at Eunice City Hall poll through July 4

St. Landry Parish voters can cast vote at the Eunice City Hall poll through July 4.
As of noon Tuesday, 44 votes had been cast at the Eunice site.
There were 1,098 total votes in St. Landry Parish at the end of Tuesday’s voting, according to the Secretary of State’s website. Of the early votes, 917 were absentee.
The Presidential Preference Primary is on the ballot. Only Democrats and Republicans can cast a vote for the Presidential Preference Primary.
Grand Coteau voters will decide on a millage proposition for fire protection.
Hours for voting are 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Voting locations are:
— Registrar of Voters Office, Suite 114, 118 N. Court St., Opelousas; and
— Eunice City Hall, 300 S. 2nd St., Eunice.
Voting will not be held on Sunday.
Statewide 75,986 votes had been cast at end of voting Tuesday. Of the votes, 50,873 were cast absentee.
In Acadia Parish, 701 votes had been cast and there were 570 votes in Evangeline Parish.
Cheryl Milburn, St. Landry Parish registrar of voters, said said social distancing will be in place for the voting. Masks are recommended, but not required to vote.
