Early voting resumes Monday

Early voting for the March 24 election continues Monday in Opelousas.
Voting will again be available at the Eunice City Hall Thursday through Saturday. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Early voting also will be held at the St. Landry Parish Registrar of Voters Office Monday through Saturday.
Voters must be 18 or turn 18 by the date of the election. Additionally, individuals can pick up mail-in registration forms at city halls, banks and libraries in the different municipalities and online @Geauxcvote.com. The forms must be postmarked or submitted by the deadline.
Early voting also will be held at the Acadia Parish Registrar of Voters Office from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the office at 568 NW Circle Court, Crowley.
Voters may verify their current information by visiting the geauxvote.com, or call a registrar of voters office. In St. Landry Parish, the registrar’s office number is 337-948-0572. In Acadia Parish, the registrar’s number is 337-788-8841.
Proper identification for registering to vote is one of the following documents: a current Louisiana driver’s license or identification card, a birth certificate and/or a baptismal certificate.
Two parishwide propositions are on the St. Landry Parish ballots. They are a 11.3-mill, 10-year property tax school pay raises and a 12.1-mill, 20-year property tax for school improvements.
Also on the ballot is a 10-mill, five-year property tax for Fire District 3 and a 10-mill, 10-year tax for Coulee Croche Fire Protection District 4.
In Acadia Parish, items on the ballot are a sales tax proposition in Duson, Fire Protection 3 propositions.
