The annual Eunice Food Bank Food Drive was held Tuesday.
Many families, clubs and organizations, churches, schools, businesses, were generous during this year’s drive.
According to Director Mary Ann Guillory, “We collected three and a half tons of food items and staples for the food bank’s pantry on Tuesday. However, we are anticipating more this week. The schools in Eunice held food drives and will be delivering their staples this week.
The Eunice Food Bank will continue to accept food items, staples, and monetary donations through out this year.
“Families are in need. Eunice has come through again as always,” said Guillory.
Guillory added, “This year’s food drive was a success. We had many volunteers here who helped out. We had volunteers from LSUE sports teams and some ACT members from St. Anthony’s Church.”
Last year The Eunice Food Bank Food Drive brought in six tons.
Guillory says that one can still donate canned goods of every kind, corn, peas, yams, etc., toiletries of every kind, diapers, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergents, dish detergents, soaps, toothpaste, deodorants, staples-rice, flour, dried beans, pastas, sugar, coffee, tuna fish, noodles, cereals, jiffy corn mixes, juice, macaroni and cheese in boxes.
