Eunice Mayor Scott Fontenot announced he has declared a State of Emergency for the City of Eunice.
In an email this afternoon, Fontenot stated, “This declaration has been made to follow in line with the federal and state declarations of emergency.”
The declaration:
- puts the Mayor’s emergency authority itemized in law into effect;
- triggers emergency bidding, contracting, and purchasing procedures;
- establishes the incident period for the municipality, which may vary from the parish; and
- promotes efficient tracking of COVID-19 related expenses in the event that an additional disaster occurs (flooding, hurricane, etc.) and streamline access to future funding.
