Former Eunice mayor and state representative Curtis Joubert received the LSUE University Medal in commencement ceremonies on May 25.
Eunice High School softball team award winners included Leslie Daigle, sportsmanship; Emily Deshotel, coaches’ award; Marcia Allison, outstanding offensive player; Naomi Marcantel, outstanding defensive player; and Lauren Fontenot, academic award and Lady Cat award.
Captains for the fall session of the men’s teenis league included Vernon Fuselier, Buddy Fay, Randy Fruge and Jessie Trahan. Terry Hoychick was league director.
Eunice Bobcat track team members presented awards included Bruce Lewis, most improved field man; Thaddeus Godfrey, coaches’ award; Franco Frank, most improved in track and the third runner-up at state in the 800-meter run; and Jerome White, most valuable track member in the cross country run, member of the Top 10 in the parish and sportsmanship award.
