Eunice Mayor Bob Morris said the city qualified for additional FEMA reimbursements for its response to Hurricane Gustav. The city’s debris removal cost was about $88,000 and the standard reimbursement would have been $66,000. The city was to receive an additional $6,100.
The Eunice Rotary Club donated $5,000 to the Eunice Fire Department to buy a fire training trailer-mobile command center.
The Eunice High Bobcats ended their season with 40-31 loss against Bell Chase High in the quarterfinals. Eunice rushers included Tyler Collins, 25-171; Austin Young, 6-22; Trey Ceasar, 7-47; Darryl Thomas, 6-20; Mitchell Fuselier, 1-(-40); and Stuart Turner, 2-(-9).
The Eunice United Community Health Clinic was reporting dwindling donations. About 1,000 people in the Tri-Parish area were being served by the clinic.
