Finishing up the overlay work. Prairie Construction Co. employees work on overlaying the trails at the Walking Park, the last phase of the city-wide overlay project costing almost $1 million. The asphalt is carried to by front-end loader to the overlay machine, rather than using heaving trucks to haul the materials into the park.
Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Church. Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Church began Monday and continues through Friday. The theme of this year’s school is “Group’s Crocodile Dock, Where Fearless Kids Shine God’s Light.”Enjoying snacks of trail mix, and drinks are Kelsi (K-K) Gotreaux, left, and Millie Frey. Both are six years old.
Four Blue Jays earn All-State Honors. St. Edmund senior pitcher was named to the Class 1-A All-State team along with three other Blue Jay players: Pitcher Mac Manuel, third baseman Tyler Rodriguez and outfielder Trevor Hargroder were named to the First Team, while first baseman Tyler McGee was a Honorable Mention selection.

Trio of Anglers. Caiden Matt, 9, fishes from the bank while Phillip Alleman, 10, left, and Shane Francois, 12, try their luck off the Walking Park bridge. They were using minnows and wieners (all-beef) for bait but not having much luck.
