Children find K-9s friendly, bad guys don’t. School children find meeting Zeus and Pullo fun. The same can’t be said for the people the two meet during their routine work. Officers Zeus and Pullo are the dogs used by the Eunice Police Department’s K-9 officers. Caitlyn Sonnier, a third grader at Highland Elementary, greets Officer Zeus, who is accompanied by K-9 Officer and Handler Lt. Donnie Thibodeaux. The Eunice Police Department’s K-9 officers have visited several schools recently to familiarize students and teachers with that aspect of law enforcement.
Spirit Leaders of the Week. St. Ed’s Ashley Miller leads a cheer for the Blue Jays. Eunice High’s Emily Turner leads a cheer for the Bobcats.
St. Ed’s first Feather Queen. William Johnson appears overcome as he’s crowned the first Feather Queen during intermission at the St. Edmund Feather Bowl Thursday evening. He was selected from among the six senior “maids,” two of who are seen in the background.
Blue Jay shut out Hurricanes. Adam Wimberly scored three touchdowns and grabbed two interceptions to help lead St. Edmund to a 28-0 win over North Central Friday night.
