The following are from the August 1994 files of The Eunice News.
Eunice Mayor Curtis Joubert reported that a delegation of musicians and others had a fantastic reception during a trip to Britain. Those mentioned in a photo layout were Paul and Liz Potier, Barry Ancelet, Pris Fontenot, Tee Leger, Marc Savoy and Ann Savoy.
Members of the Eunice High School cheerleaders for 1994-1995 included Natasha Stevens, Carin Williams, Robyn Miller, Laura Langley, Brandy Sam, Skylar Savoy, Kim Fontenot, Holly Fontenot, Brooke Dodd and Ashley Fruge.
Tammy Standford and Michelle Brunet joined the staff at Glendale Elementary. Stanford was teaching kindergarten and Brunet was a special education teacher.
Courtney Bass, who was captain of the Eunice High School Dance Team, received a scholarship to LSUE given in memory of Kelly Jo Landry.
American Business Women Association officers were Barbara James, vice president; Margaret Coker, president; Laura Rozas, recording secretary; Rowena Fontenot, corresponding secretary; and Cheryl Veillon, treasurer.
Adam Gustin, who pulled Thomas Lemoine from a storm drain, received a citation from President Bill Clinton commending him for his heroic accomplishment.
Carlton Loewer signed with the Philadelphia Phillies. Loewer had been attending Mississippi State University.
