A FEMA mobile registration unit will open at Word Ministry in Eunice to assist those in need of registering for FEMA disaster assistance.
The unit is located at 1960 W. Laurel Ave. in Eunice and operated 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Monday and Tuesday.
The FEMA mobile unit is designed to assist anyone who experienced damage from Hurricane Laura.
FEMA approved St. Landry Parish for Individual Assistance earlier this month. Federal FEMA assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans for uninsured property loss, and other programs to help people and businesses recover from Hurricane Laura.
The mobile unit has been activated for those who do not wish to register online. Residents can still apply online DisasterAssistance.gov or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) for the hearing and speech impaired.
