The Eunice Food Bank and Second Harvest Foods sponsored a Mobile Unit Food Pantry Drive-Thru at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Northwest Community Center pavilion.
Many boxes of food items were seen stacked under the pavilion, and volunteers were ready to hand out boxes.
Many vehicles lined up to receive a box of food items. Food boxes included fresh fruit (grapes and apples), an assortment of canned goods, orange juice, Corn flakes, a gallon of milk, and a fresh bagged fryer.
Volunteers met drivers at their vehicles, loaded up trunks and truck flatbeds. Food boxes were provided and served as a first come, first service basis, and with No more than two families per vehicle.
On hand were city marshals, and Food Bank volunteers Kenny Manuel, Nancy Guillory, Tina Thomas, Zena Jones and Mary Ann Guillory, director at the Eunice Food Bank.
