Laughs, Jokes and Storytelling (LJS), a popular on-line television podcast hosted by veteran New York comedians Mark Riccadonna (Live at Gotham) and Richie Byrne (The Dr. Oz Show) is coming to the LSUE Performing Arts Series from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday with special guest Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys.
A link will be available to enjoy the show free on the LSUE homepage. The show will available for free until the end of the month. Students will receive extra course credits for logging on.
The Mamou Playboys were propelled into the world music limelight early on, and by their third release, Trace of Time, they were awarded a Grammy nomination in the worldwide field of traditional folk music, another in 2004 for Bon Reve, in 2009 for Live at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and again in 2011 for their release, Grand Isle.
All donations will go to the LSUE Foundation, a link will appear on the website. Other guests will be Chancellor Nancee Sorenson, and Professor Tony Baltakis.
The brainchild of Riccadonna and Byrne, Laughs, Jokes and Storytelling is in its third year with guests ranging from famous actors and comedians, television personalities and other individuals with stories to tell. The interviews are an affable deep dive into guest’s lives and seek to mine fascinating and arcane anecdotes that are managed with the host’s trademark on stage comedic banter.
