The Diocese of Lafayette has announced a schedule of Holy Week prayer services and worship opportunities to be live streamed and broadcast while public Masses remain suspended during the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
Daily Masses will be live-streamed at noon through Thursday from the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, celebrated by the Rev. Chester Arceneaux, pastor, and associate pastor the Rev. Andrew Schumacher. On Thursday, Bishop Douglas Deshotel will join Arceneaux and Schumacher to celebrate Holy Thursday Mass at 7 p.m.
On Good Friday, Deshotel will pray the Litany of the Holy Sacrament at 11 a.m. followed by the Stations of the Cross at noon. Cardinals, archbishops and bishops from throughout the nation will join Deshotel in praying the Litany simultaneously at 11 a.m. Good Friday services will then be held at 3 p.m.
On Saturday, Deshotel will celebrate the Easter Vigil Mass at 7 p.m. at the Cathedral. All of these Masses and prayer services will be live-streamed on the home page of the Diocesan website, diolaf.org or by going to /video.ibm.com/channel/catholic-diocese-of-lafayette-la.
On Sunday, KLFY-TV10 will broadcast live Easter Sunday Mass with Deshotel from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. from the Cathedral.
