Lawyer optimistic Confederate monument will be moved

Opelousas attorney Tommy DeJean assured the St. Landry Parish Council the Sons of Confederate Veterans will have a plan within six weeks to move a Confederate monument off the courthouse grounds.
Moving the monument has often been met with an emotional response, but at Wednesday’s Council meeting the subject was matter of fact.
