LifeShare Blood Center will hold a blood drive on Dec. 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Walmart in Eunice and on Dec. 30 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Walmart in Ville Platte.
Mark Lioret, with LifeShare Blood Center, stressed the importance of donating blood during this time of the year. He stated, “this time of year is especially important for members of the community to come out and donate so we can maintain a stable blood supply through the holidays. People say they are too busy, they’re traveling, it’s too cold, or whatever the reason, but to the cancer patient, the accident victim, the mother having a baby, all those loved ones who may find themselves needing to receive blood – it doesn’t matter that it’s the holidays, they just need the blood to live.”
A press release from LifeShare Blood Center states, “LifeShare Blood Center continues to support the local community, by entering into an agreement with Acadian Medical Center, which is a campus of Mercy Regional Medical Center, located at 3501 Hwy. 190 Eunice as their exclusive blood center supplier.”
The news release continued, “LifeShare Blood Center has and will continue to provide blood, blood components and certain laboratory services to the Mercy Regional Medical Center Healthcare Facilities located in Ville Platte and Eunice.”
