Body

The Louisiana Sheriffs’ Honorary Membership Program was established in 1988 in order to build better bonds between concerned citizens, local businesses, elected Sheriffs, and the communities they serve.
Currently all 64 sheriffs participate in the program, which is supported by over 49,000 private citizens who have chosen to demonstrate their support for good law enforcement by joining forces with their local sheriffs and becoming members of the program.
Memberships are: individual, $20; family, $35; and business membership, $35.
The Louisiana Sheriffs’ Honorary Membership Program (LSHMP) never raises funds through telephone solicitations. If you are called by someone claiming to represent the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Honorary Membership Programs seeking a donation, inform the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Honorary Program immediately at 225 383-2871.
If you are interested in joining the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Honorary Membership Program call Lauren Meher at 225-383-2871.
Its governing body consists of a seven-member board of sheriffs, and the day to day administration of the program and its multi-faceted educational and public services are administered by a program director.
