LPB asks for Vietnam War memories

Body

In support of the new landmark series, The Vietnam War, by documentary filmmakers Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, airing on PBS and LPB beginning at 7 p.m. Sept. 17, Louisiana Public Broadcasting is launching a new initiative called The Vietnam War — Louisiana Remembers.
Were you affected by the Vietnam War? Did you, a family member, or someone you know serve in the war? If so, LPB wants to preserve and share your story. Every Wednesday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., LPB invites you to come to our studios in Baton Rouge to record your Vietnam experience. Call 225-767-4204 to schedule your recording. You can also share your own history with LPB on our website at lpb.org/Vietnam through your own videos, photographs or written stories.
Official preview screenings of The Vietnam War and additional related activities and resources will be included on our website and in our e-newsletter throughout the summer.
“The Vietnam War - A Film by Ken Burns & Lynn Novick” is a 10 part, 18-hour documentary film series.
The first five episodes will air nightly from Sept.1 7, through Sept, 21. The final five episodes will air nightly from Sept. 24, through Sept. 28.
