Mamou Cajun Music Fest swill honor Jason Frey

The Mamou Recreational Center Complex will once again host the Mamou Cajun Music Festival on Sept. 20 and 21. The 48th annual festival’s special honoree will be Jason Frey.
The festival opens Friday at 7 p.m. with Lafayette Rhythm Devils. At 7:30 p.m., Moriah Istre will conduct a Zydeco Dance Lesson workshop.
The games begin Friday, as well, with the potato dance at 8:30 p.m.
Once Lafayette Rhythm Devils leave the stage at 8:45 p.m., Istre will present her First Cousins Film. The first night, then, concludes with Geno Delafose and French Rockin Boogie performing from 9:30 to 11 p.m.
The musical lineup begins Saturday at 9 a.m. with Seth Spell and Cajun Strong during a KVPI Live Broadcast until 11 a.m.
