The music in Mamou for Mardi Gras weekend begins Feb. 22 and continues throughout Mardi Gras day.
Here is a schedule of the weekend’s events:
Feb. 22
Performing at the south end of 6th Street: Ferral Manuel and Wild Rice from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys from 2 to 5 p.m.
Feb. 24:
Performing at the traffic light:
DJ rob from 5 to 8 p.m.; and Geno Delafosse from 8 to 11 p.m.
Feb. 24
Performing at the north end of 6th Street: Lil Nathan and the Zydeco Big Timers.
Feb. 25
Mamou Courir de Mardi Gras leaves at 8 a.m. from the American Legion Hall on Main Street.
Performing at the traffic light: Cajun Tradition from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and live music from 1 p.m. until Mardi Gras riders return.
Mardi Gras Chicken Run leaves at 10 a.m. from Guillory Paint and Body on 6th Street.
Performing at north end of 6th Street: DJ Richard Wilson from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Keith Frank and the Soileau Zydeco Band from 1 to 5 p.m.
