Maple Avenue work planned this year

The Maple Avenue — La. 91 — repaving project is still scheduled this year with bid letting set in February.
State Rep. Phillip DeVillier said project has been expanded and will now include the overlay from the T-intersection with La. 13 west to the Acadia Parish line.
The planning and design work wasn’t complete for a scheduled January bid letting, he said.
Construction is anticipated to begin 60 days after the Feb. 10 bid letting.
“The incidental work on this project includes replacing a catch basin and 36 lf (linear feet) of pipe in the vicinity of LA 91 and S 5th St., installing guardrail on either side of the bridge just east of S. Bobcat Dr., installing 10 handicap ramps, and replacing any driveways that are affected by the work,” according to a statement from Michael DeSelle, state Department of Transportation and Development District 3 engineer administrator to DeVillier.
DeVillier said DOTD is planning an overlay project on La. 13 from U.S. 190 to the Evangeline Parish line with bid-letting in October.
Also planned is an paving project on La. 13 from the T-intersection south to the Sittig Street/Perchville Road intersection.
