A memorial will be placed at Central Middle School honoring three Charles Drew High School graduates who were killed in service to the nation during the Vietnam War.
Jake Flukes, of Shreveport, a Charles Drew graduate and Vietnam War veteran, said the program is scheduled at 1 p.m Saturday. The dedication of the memorial, which will include photos of the three men, will be followed by a program at the Southeast Neighborhood Center.
The Charles Drew alumni killed in action are Cpl. Jimmy Monday, died September 1968; Sgt. Charles Williams, died February 1966; and Pfc. Jimmy Williams, died August 1968.
The program also will honor two other soldiers from Eunice killed during the war. They are D.W. Sistrunk and J.D. Feucht.
