Parish president explains his plan for $15.9M

    St. Landry Parish President Jessie Bellard said he wants to use part of $15.9 million coming to the parish to fix a $82,000-a-month prisoner housing expense.

    Speaking to the Eunice Rotary Club on Wednesday, Bellard said the American Rescue Plan Act money is to be used for tourism-related expenses, water and sewer infrastructure and COVID-related expenses.
