It was John Burson Day Sunday at Bobcat Field as the Eunice baseball program retired the long-time assistant coach’s jersey in a pregame ceremony.
Burson spent 41 years as a teacher and coach at Eunice High and left a legacy as a mentor and the head of the Social Studies Department.
A 1967 St. Edmund graduate, he earned his degree from USL and starting his teaching career at EHS in 1971.
