Rice City gymnasts head to regional competition in Georgia

Rice City Gymnastics of Crowley had twelve of their gymnasts in Xcel Silver and Gold compete at the upper-level state meet in Westwego, last weekend. Of these twelve, nine gymnasts qualified to advance on to the regional competition, where Louisiana will compete against all other south eastern states of the United States.

In each level, Louisiana chooses the top eight gymnasts to represent the state team in the regional competition. Rice City Gymnastics had two of their gymnasts selected to represent Team Louisiana in Xcel Silver.

These gymnasts were Addison Toups, and Brooklyn Bellon, the latter of which was ranked number one in the state for Xcel Silver. Rice City Gymnastics also had seven other gymnasts able to compete at regionals for the individual all around competition. These gymnasts include Xcel Silvers: Katelyn Hardee, Caroline Keaton, and Sophie Menard, and Xcel Golds: Rylee Hoke, Avery Fuselier, Myah Chaillot, and Amelia Fontenot.

These gymnasts, along with their coaches Ruthie Piron, Alex Piron, Andrew Piron, and Daniel Kelly, will represent Louisiana and the surrounding community at the regional gymnastics’ competition, held in Atlanta, Georgia, on April 30 through May 2.
