Annette Fontenot of Scott established a fund with the Community Foundation of Acadiana to support the Houston Police Department.
Annette, and her husband Andy who is a retired police officer from the Lafayette Police Department, established the “Acadiana Supports Houston PD Fund” to raise money to purchase a new police vehicle to be donated to the Houston Police Department.
Houston Police Department lost more than 100 vehicles during Hurricane Harvey. Due to the shortage of patrol vehicles, officers are having to double up.
Tax deductible donations of any amount can be made online at www.CFAcadiana.org/HoustonPD.
“I have a soft spot for our police officers who protect our community every day,” said Fontenot. “I want to encourage everyone to give; it’s for a good cause,” she said.
Tax deductible donations of any amount can be made online at www.CFAcadiana.org/HoustonPD.
Proceeds from the Acadiana Supports Houston PD Fund will benefit the Houston Police Foundation, a nonprofit organization who provides safety equipment to police officers.
