The 26th Louisiana Smoked Meat Festival, which is hosted by Viande Boucanee, Inc. in conjunction with area corporate and private sponsors, is scheduled in May..
The festival will be held at the Ville Platte Civic Center and Pavilion.
There will be live music each night and the World Championship Smoked Meat Cook-off on May 18.
Opening ceremonies, where all veterans and military will be honored, will be held at noon May 18.
Sponsorship forms along with cooking competition registration and beauty pageant packets are available on the website at lasmokedmeatfestival.com.
Admission is $5. Identification is required, and no ice chests, outside beverages, or pets are allowed.

May 12
Teen Miss, Miss, and Ms. Le Festival de la Viande Boucanee Pageants.
May 16
Le Festival de la Viande Boucanee Childrens’ Pageant.
May 17
4 p.m. – Gates open.
7 to 10 p.m. – One Trick Pony.
10 p.m. to midnight – Clay Cormier & The Highway Boys.
May 18
8 a.m. – Gates open.
Noon – Opening ceremonies.
5 p.m. – World Championship Smoked Meat Cook-off results. DJ Todd Ortego.
6 to 8 p.m. – Todd Knighten & Knight Train.
8 to 10 p.m. – Ashton Dupre.
10 p.m. to midnight – Side Show.
