Most St. Landry Parish public schools will restart on Wednesday, but some will remained closed in the wake of Hurricane Delta.
All schools in the Northwest Zone will be open. These schools include Lawtell Elementary, Grand Prairie Elementary, Plaisance Elementary, and Northwest High School.
North Central High School, Washington Elementary, Washington Career and Tech, and Palmetto will be open.
All schools in the Eunice Zone will have school. These schools include, East Elementary, Eunice Elementary, Central Middle School, Highland Elementary, Glendale Elementary, and Eunice High School. In addition, Eunice Junior High School will begin classes Wednesday virtually and remain virtual for the remainder of this week. A mold problem At the junior high school was announced Monday.
In the Beau Chene High School zone, Beau Chene High, Leonville Elementary, and Arnaudville Middle School will be open, however, Cankton Elementary, Sunset Middle, and Grand Coteau Elementary will remain closed.
In the Port Barre Zone, all schools will be open with the exception of Krotz Springs Elementary.
The following schools in the Opelousas Zone will remain closed Wednesday: Creswell; Park Vista Elementary; Northeast; CAPS; Opelousas High School; Opelousas Middle School; Grolee Elementary; and Opelousas Junior High. Magnet Academy for Cultural Arts and SLATS will be open.
The virtual academy for grades 6-12 will have classes for those students who have connectivity. The virtual academy for grades K-5 will be closed.
All Head Start Centers will remain closed Wednesday.
For those students taking classes at LSUE, those classes will be in session. Transportation will also be provided for these students.
Students who cannot attend school due to unsafe road conditions, damage incurred, or power outages and/or lack of water, will be excused from attending school.
