Some St. Landry Parish school district students will begin staggered entry into in-person learning over the course of the next two weeks, while others will transition to the St. Landry Parish Virtual Learning Academy.
Below is the in-person and virtual academy schedule for St. Landry Parish students.
PreK-4th grade
Wednesday, Sept. 30, and Thursday, Oct. 1: Staggered entry based on administrative decision.
Principals will decide which grade levels attend on Wednesday and which grade levels attend on Thursday and will notify parents of the first day of in-person learning for their child. The group of students not attending face-to-face on Wednesday will need to check their Google Classroom for assignments that must be completed that day and vice-versa for Thursday’s students not attending face-to-face.
Friday, Oct. 2: All students in the prek-4th grade configuration that have chosen face-to-face instruction will report to school for in-person learning.
5th – 12th grade
Friday, Oct. 2: All 5th–12th grade students assigned to Group B under the hybrid model will report to school.
Students in Group A will complete asynchronous learning assignments in Google Classroom or paper/pencil as assigned by the teacher. Principals will notify students of their group and special consideration will be made to keep siblings in the same group.
All students choosing to stay virtual will begin classes in the St. Landry Parish Virtual Learning Academy.
Parents were to begin online orientation on Wednesday, Sept. 23.
Monday, Oct. 5 – Friday, Oct. 9: Students will follow the hybrid schedule below.
Mondays and Wednesdays – All students in Group A will report to school.
Tuesdays and Thursdays – All students in Group B will report to school.
Groups will alternate on Fridays.
On days where a group stays home, they will complete asynchronous learning assignments in Google Classroom or paper/pencil as assigned by the teacher.
