St. Landry Parish School Board plans retreat at LSUE on Wednesday

The St. Landry Parish School Board plans a retreat at 4 pm. Wednesday on the Louisiana State University Eunice campus, 2048 Johnson Highway, Eunice.
On the agenda are presentation and discussions on the facility assessment and demographic study.
The meeting will be held at the Acadian Center in Rooms 126 to 128.
The School Board has scheduled a March 24 election on a 11.4-mill, 10-year property tax proposal to raise $7 million annually to fund pay raises; and a a 20-year, 12.4-mill tax to fund a $99 million bond issue for capital improvements.
Both taxes must pass.
The district’s current property tax is 20.52 mills, he said.
If passed, the taxes would raise the millage to 44.52 mills.
