Student and Teacher of the Year chosen at Eunice Junior High School

Zyon Fontenot is Eunice Jr. High Student of the Year. He is an eighth grade student and is the son of Justin E. Fontenot and grandson of Ms. Anita Johnwell Johnson.
Zyon consistently obtained Advanced and Mastery on LEAP tests with science being his favorite subject. He is a member of the Junior Beta Club, EJHS band and EJHS basketball and football teams.
Because of his love for people, he volunteered to help feed the disabled, elderly, and veterans since the close of school due to the pandemic. Through Divine Delights Specialty Sweets and Restoring God’s Glory Ministry, Zyon assisted in disseminating motivational snack packs and books as well as meals to the children of St. Landry, Evangeline, and Acadia parishes.
His place of worship is Zion Traveler Baptist Church in Mamou where he participates in the Youth Action Ministry, Choir and Men of Class Social and Civic group. Zyon plans to attend college and pursue a degree in law.
Tiffany Courville Pedigo is Teacher of the Year at Eunice Junior High School. She is an eighth-grade Math teacher at the junior high campus. She has 19 years of teaching experience with three of those years at Eunice Junior High School.
Pedigo received a bachelor of arts in Elementary Education from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a masters in educational leadership from American College of Education in 2018. She also holds ancillary certificates for Louisiana Content Leaders and Louisiana Mentor Teachers.
Pedigo is married to Casey Pedigo and has two children; Olivia, 16, and Ashton, 12, who both attend St. Landry Parish schools. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
