Supplies are still needed at Eunice Elementary where a fire on Aug. 14 destroyed teacher and student supplies from pens, paper to tissue.
Mary Dupre, principal at Eunice Elementary, said, “This transition thus far has gone smoothly. Our teachers and students seemed to have adjusted, and thus far we have not encountered any problems.”
Dupre added that supplies and items are needed on campus. “Items destroyed and needed are document cameras, projectors and binders. I have also discovered from day- to-day things and items missing and are now needed.”
Due to a fire, all third and fourth grade school supplies were destroyed. If anyone wishes to donate items and supplies at the school, can do so at the front office. The school is also accepting monetary donations, payable to Eunice Elementary.
Supplies needed include scissors, blunt end only; tissue paper; loose leaf paper, wide rule; paper towels; copy paper; hand sanitizer; one-subject notebooks; manilla folders; marble journals; big erasers; pencils; plastic pocket folder, 24-count of colors; glue sticks; book sacks, no rolling ones; pencil top erasers; antibacterial wipes; zipper lock plastic bags; stick notes; and binders.
The third grade classes are placed in the other classrooms on campus that were not affected by the fire. Special education classes are now located in the other building on campus. Fourth graders and fourth grade teachers are at Highland Elementary.
