The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry (LDAF) has canceled its second pesticide pick-up location to collect unwanted pesticides from agricultural producers across the state who need assistance disposing of them properly.
The second date of the Unwanted Pesticide Pick-Up Program was to be on April 2 at the St. Landry Recycling Center located at 2717 West Landry St., Opelousas, La. 70570.
“Last fall, 37.6 tons of pesticides and chemicals were picked up at a location in Winnsboro, La.,” said Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry Mike Strain, D.V.M. “This program not only helps our ag producers but also helps protect people and the environment in Louisiana by properly disposing of these items.”
