Update: Washington man charged in hit and run left 2 dead

A 66-year-old Washington man was arrested Sunday in a hit and run that left two people dead Saturday, according to a news release from Louisiana State Police Troop I.
Michael S. Thibodeaux, 66, was arrested and booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail after following up on tips, the State Police news release stated.
Police state that shortly before 10:30 p.m. Saturday a fatality crash involving three pedestrians occurred on La. 749 near Legion Lane in St. Landry Parish.
The crash claimed the life of 42-year-old Kizzy Greene and 41-year-old Angela Broussard, both of Opelousas.
The preliminary investigation revealed Greene, Broussard, and another pedestrian were standing in the northbound lane of LA 749 when they were struck by an unknown northbound vehicle. After striking the three pedestrians, the unknown vehicle continued on and fled the scene.
Green and Broussard both suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased by a representative from the St. Landry Parish Coroner’s Office.
The third victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries. Impairment is unknown and standard toxicology tests are pending.
