The Maple Avenue bridge at the intersection with Bobcat Drive is expected to be completed by late November to early December, according to Alderman Marion “Nootsie” Sattler. Sattler said he spoke with state Department of Transportation and Development officials recently about the bridge on the west side of Eunice. The work is to include widening the drainage channel from 40 to 60 feet to about 100 feet wide. The bridge deck is to be about 80 feet east of the previous deck. The work included easing a 90-degree turn in the channel to about a 45-degree turn, he said. The work may help alliviate flooding along the Richard Gully. The photos were taken Wednesday morning.
