Edwards extends statewide indoor mask mandate

Gov. John Bel Edwards extended Louisiana’s statewide indoor mask mandate for another four weeks, until Oct. 27, as the state’s overall COVID-19 outlook improves following the state’s worst COVID-19 surge of the entire pandemic. The statewide mask mandate includes K-12 schools and college campuses.

Tri-Parish jobless rates down

The Tri-Parish workforce in August was 66,994, down 2.8% or 1,903 from a year ago. August jobless rates in St. Landry, Acadia and Evangeline parishes are down compared to a year ago, according to statistics released by the Louisiana Workforce Commission.
