Parish Council may go live on Facebook

The St. Landry Parish Council may place its meetings live on Facebook. The Council’s Public Works Committee approved the Facebook idea that now goes to the full Council meeting on Sept. 15.

School Board widens its vision from initial building plan

St. Landry Parish School Board members agreed to grow the first of a three-phase building plan from $100 million to $158 million during a committee of the whole meeting Thursday.

St. Landry Parish school employees must submit their vaccine status or submit to weekly COVID-19 testing beginning this week. The Board voted 10-2 to authorize the Superintendent Patrick Jenkins to begin the plan. Voting against the measure were members Randy Wagley and Kyle Boss.

La. Farmer directs America’s Farmers Grow Communities donation to St. Edmund High

Local farmer Raymond and Tammy Fruge recently directed a $2,500 Bayer Fund America’s Farmers Grow Communities donation to St. Edmund Catholic School. St. Edmund will use the funds to awards given to students at our Academic Pep Rally.
