2-vehicle crash in Acadia Parish leaves unrestrained passenger dead

A two-vehicle fatality crash on La. 13 at La. 92 (East Whitney Street) in Acadia Parish claimed the life of 53-year-old Isidro A. Padilla of Kaplan at about 11 a.m. Saturday, according a news release from Louisiana State Police Troop I.

Nearly 5,000 La. National Guardsmen activated for Hurricane Ida response

The Louisiana National Guard is prepared and positioned in potentially affected areas for emergency operations ahead of Hurricane Ida, Sunday, while continuing its COVID-19 response missions.

About 9,700 Cleco customers without power due to Hurricane Ida

About 9,700 Cleco customers were without power as of 2 p.m. due to Hurricane Ida which made landfall in southeast Louisiana earlier today as a Category 4 Hurricane.

 These outages are in St. Tammany, St. Mary and Washington parishes.
