The School Board decided all children attending St. Landry Parish public schools will be required to wear face masks while indoors. The action altered a proposal that “Face coverings are highly encouraged for those ages 2 to 4 as tolerated.

City street bids are 24% over estimate

Bids for a street overlay project came in about 24% higher than estimated, according to Karl Aucoin, city engineer. Aucoin said five bids were received for the project done every two years. The bids are to be on the agenda for the Board of Aldermen meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Debris removal praised

The city has emerged from its roadside bulky debris crisis. “I’m very thankful for the effort that has been put in by Waste Connections and Solid Waste,” Eunice Mayor Scott Fontenot said. “You definitely can see a difference,” he said.

Parish Council may refinance road district bond issue

Eunice man charged with catalytic converter thefts A surveillance video tripped up a Eunice man who is now charged with stealing catalytic converters. Raymond Dominic Miller, 38, of the 500 block of Buckhorn Drive, faces 19 charges filed by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff and Eunice Police.
