Acadia Parish began an inmate litter abatement crew during June.  Inmates picked up trash on 14 days in various areas of the parish.  During the 14 days, 456 bags of trash were picked up along with numerous items including mattresses, washers, dryers, trampolines and tires. The music is returning

The Eunice Community Concert Band and Choir is returning for two performances this week. Performances are scheduled at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the First Baptist Church, 331 Park Ave. The group’s performances were suspended in 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions.

City leaders may revisit problems with trash pickup at Tuesday’s Board of Aldermen meeting. At a meeting Thursday to begin setting the agenda for the Board meeting at 6:30 p.m.

Eunice Police dispatched to a report of possible gunfire and a fatality at 12th Street and U.S. 190 discovered something different. The incident at about 1:15 a.m. Thursday had police contacting the coroner.

ECCBC announces its summer concert The ECCBC announces its 2021 summer concert, “Be Our Guest!” It is the 31st anniversary of the ECCBC. Concert dates are set at 7 p.m. July 15 and July 16 at First Baptist Church in Eunice. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for children under 12.
