LDWF agents participating in Operation Dry Water this weekend

Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Law Enforcement Division (LDWF/LED) agents will take part in Operation Dry Water from Friday through Sunday. During the Operation Dry Water weekend, LDWF agents will be out in force patrolling state waterways for impaired boat operators.

Sheriff reports murder-suicide in Acadia Parish

Just after 11 a.m. Wednesday, Acadia Parish Sheriff’s deputy’s responded to McCain Road near Goodrich Road regarding a shooting incident, Sheriff K.P. Gibson said in an email. As deputy’s arrived on scene, an adult female and adult male were discovered deceased, he stated.

ECCBC announces its summer concert The ECCBC announces its 2021 summer concert, “Be Our Guest!” It is the 31st anniversary of the ECCBC. Concert dates are set at 7 p.m. July 15 and July 16 at First Baptist Church in Eunice. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for children under 12.

Peart supervising Eunice fireworks show on July 4th

The fireworks show at the Eunice Recreation Complex is scheduled at 9 p.m. Sunday and lasts about 30 minutes. A grand finale of fireworks is planned to end the show. Kenneth Peart, former mayor and Eunice’s expert pyrotechnist, hopes that the finale will be bigger and even better than last year’s.
