EUNICE–It is with great sadness that the family of Valgene Joseph Dupre announces his passing on Tuesday, June 21, 2021 in the comfort of his home at the age of 85. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 25, 2021 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel.

Trudy Guidry Young

Trudy Guidry Young passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the age of 80. A private Memorial Mass was held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Keenan Brown officiating. Interment of ashes followed in St. Augustine Mausoleum.

LSU Board urges mandated vaccines for students

The LSU Board of Supervisors voted 9-2 Friday to urge the Louisiana Department of Health to add COVID-19 shots to a list of mandated vaccinations for college students once federal regulators give full approval to the vaccines.

Concealed carry class Saturday

The St Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office is hosting a one- day non-profit concealed carry class at 7:30 a.m. Saturday is 211 W. Park Eunice. The course is $100 dollars and $80 for a spouse or renewal.
