The Eunice Recreation Summer Camps held its first summer camp with hunting, boating, fishing and archery activities at the Northwest Community Center Monday through Friday of this week. There were 50 registered participants, 10-15 years of age, at the camp.

Liberty Theatre gets $500k under parish plan

The Liberty Theatre will receive a total of $500,000 in two installments under St. Landry Parish President Jessie Bellard’s budget for the American Rescue Act. The theater is to be renovated to bring it back to use.

A second suspect to a shooting at South 2nd Street and West Maple in Eunice on April 29 was apprehended in Calcasieu Parish Thursday. Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said Brian K. Thomas, 20, of Ville Platte, was found through a tip to Crime Stoppers of St. Landry.
