Eunice woman among 3 killed in I-10 crash

Sadie Fontenot 25, of Eunice, is among three people killed in a four-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 west of Crowley shortly before 12 a.m. Wednesday. The crash claimed the lives of another driver and an occupant of one of the vehicles, according to a Louisiana State Police Troop I news release.

State vaccine hotline opens

BATON ROUGE — Gov. John Bel Edwards announced Thursday that state residents will be able to schedule COVID-19 vaccinations by calling a hotline at 855-453-0774. The hotline also will connect residents with medical professionals so they can ask questions about the vaccines. It will operate from 8 a.

Hester Thibodeaux of Eunice celebrated her 104th birthday on Friday with her children and grandchildren from near and far. Thibodeaux is walking a little bit slower these days. She lives at home in Eunice with help of others.

EMTL battle heats up

The battle for the upperhand in Eunice Mens Tennis League competition tightened up as teams Eckholdt and Moosa are tied midway through the spring season. After six weeks, Team Eckholdt an Team Moosa are even with 27 points each, followed by Team Ashford (23) and Team D’Aubin (11).
