Dad charged after daughter adrift on raft

A 48-year-old man was charged with child desertion after his 9-year-old daughter was found adrift on an inflatable raft at the Eunice City Lake, Police Chief Randy Fontenot said. Police were notified at 3:44 p.m.

Suspect in Eunice shooting surrenders

Jasten Thomas, 18, who was wanted on an arrest warrant for his involvement in the March 7 shooting that occurred on North 7th Street between West Peach and Reed avenues, turned himself in to Eunice Police Thomas, of 210 N. 7th St.

Concealed carry class planned March 27 in Eunice

The St Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office is hosting a one-day concealed carry permit class at 7:30 a.m. March 27 at 211 W. Park Ave., Eunice. The course is $100 dollars and $80 for a spouse. The course includes fingerprints, notary or online help, application, classroom, range, and a hot Cajun meal.
