LSUE to hold Winter Fair Dec. 4 The LSU Eunice Campus Activities Board (CAB) will hold a Winter Fair on Dec. 4. The event is free and open to the public. The Acadian Center Front Lawn will have real snow to create a Winter Wonderland for kids of all ages. The event will begin at 4 p.m.

EUNICE~It is with heavy hearts that the family of Allen J. Grouvillia announces his passing on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Opelousas General Hospital with loving family by his side at the age of 74. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 3 p.m.

Virus safety measures urged

St. Landry Parish President Jessie Bellard urged the public to wear masks, social-distance and avoid large gatherings in the face of a spike in COVID-19 cases. The positivity test rate in the parish jumped from 4.6% to 6.6% in the week ending Nov. 4, he reported.

Eunice woman arrested, $30,500 in drugs seized

Eunice Police report arresting Jada Lawrence, 31, of the 800 block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Eunice, after surveillance of her residence. A news release from Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot stated the investigation began after several complaints were received.
