Tri-Parish workforce shrinks 4.9% from a year ago

The Tri-Parish workforce in June was down 4.9% compared to a year ago even as coronavirus-battered unemployment numbers improved from May. The total workforce in June was 65,577, down 3,346 from the June 2019 workforce, according to the Louisiana Workforce Commission.

Roberts Cove Germanfest canceled, COVID-19 concerns

The executive committee for the 26th Roberts Cove Germanfest planned in October of 2020 has announced the festival held in Roberts Cove each year has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Eunice High School registration scheduled Monday to Wednesday

State Treasurer John M. Schroder announced small businesses can start applying at 9 a.m. Tuesday for grants through the Main Street Recovery Program. Applications can be completed online at www.louisianamainstreet.
