Charles Ray LeJeune

Charles Ray LeJeune passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at the age of 77. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 11 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata with Father Joseph T. Sai Tran, SVD officiating. Burial will follow in St Lawrence Cemetery.

Grab & Go meals for kids through Aug. 5 Restoring God’s Glory Ministries is part of the summer feeding program for kids. Lunches will be available through Aug. 5. There will be a cooked lunch and snacks served daily from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Acadia Parish Policy Jury grapples over bulk, yard waste collection

The collection of bulk / yard waste continues to be a thorn in the side of Acadia Parish police jurors. “It’s not getting picked up in a timely manner, in some instances not at all, in the Iota area,” Steve Comeaux, chairman of the jury’s Solid Waste Committee said Tuesday (July 7) night.
