Eunice native Lisa Dies Roy is leading a company’s teams that help build field hospitals across the country in response the coronavirus COVID-19.
Roy, 48, of Baton Rouge, was featured in a Wall Street Journal story published April 13.
She is the daughter of Darrell and Marilyn Dies, of Eunice.
Nearly routine shootings have returned to some areas of Eunice in what may be a case of competing gangs.
Police Chief Randy Fontenot said arrests are pending as investigations continue into the shootings.
The city’s high school seniors who have been forced out their classrooms by the coronavirus will have something else to remember about this school year.
For the first time, a parade of the city’s high school seniors is planned on Park Avenue at 6 p.m. May 15.

Albert LaVergne passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020 at the age of 77. A Private Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Ceaser Cemetery in Duralde with Deacon Gary Gaudin officiating.

The St. Landry Parish School System announced Tuesday that it has rescheduled high school graduations ceremonies to take place June 19 and 20.
