Beware the coming termite swarm

This is the time of year when you can expect to begin seeing swarms of Formosan subterranean termites. Beginning in late April and going through June, termite alates, or swarmers, will be congregating around lights after dark.

Parish president says he is recovering

St. Landry Parish President Bill Fontenot gave an update on his health Tuesday saying he is recovering, according to a news release. Fontenot was diagnosed with a type of skin cancer known as squamous cell carcinoma earlier this year.
